Welcome to the New Plaza Condo Association blog! This private, password-protected blog is provided as a courtesy to the owners and members of the New Plaza Condo Association and is maintained by the Condo Board. The intent of this blog is to keep owners updated and informed about various issues of general interest related to the building, and to promote communication among owners about these issues.

Posts 
All posts (found here on the main page) are labeled and archived so that they may be retrieved at any time in the future using the"Blog Archive" or "Topics" sections on the right hand side of this blog. Only Board members can create posts, but all owners may comments on both posts and pages, and are encouraged to do so. Owners may submit posts to board@thenewplaza.com for consideration and inclusion on the blog.

Comments 
Owners are invited to leave comments regarding any page or post by filling out the "Post a Comment" form, which is located at the  bottom of every page and post on this blog. Comments are moderated by the Board and may be removed at its discretion. Comments that include personal attacks on individuals and/or are irrelevant to the post at hand will be deleted. Comments that take issue with a decision or action of the Board and which require a response are more appropriately handled through direct and formal correspondence with the Board at board@thenewplaza.com.

Notification emails 
You can nowsign up for email notifications when new posts are added to our condo blog. To sign up for email notifications, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the "SIGN UP FOR EMAIL UPDATES" link on the right-hand side of the blog. A new Internet browser window/tab will open up.
  2. Click the blue "Apply for Membership" link to join the New Plaza Google Group.
  3. Decide how often you want to receive email notifications of new blog activity.
  4. Once your membership in the New Plaza Google Group is approved, you will begin receiving email updates of new blog activity.
Board updates
The "Board Updates" page of this blog summarizes current issues being addressed by the Condo Board, which will periodically provide updates. If there is another issue you'd like to list on this page, you may use the link provided at the bottom of the "Board Updates" page to submit to the Board for consideration.


Service provider recommendations
The "Service Provider" page is provided as a courtesy to owners. It contains owner recommendations for various types of service providers that have performed work in the building. Please note that the opinions expressed about the service providers are those of the owner(s) who submitted the recommendation and do not represent endorsements of the Board or other owners. You may hire service providers at your own discretion. 

Listing items to give away or sell 
If you wish to make other owners aware of an item you're selling or would like to give away, use the links at the bottom of the "Free/For Sale" page and your notice will be posted for other owners to see.

New Plaza neighbors, Three quick requests/reminders to help keep our lobby/mail area tidy: The brown wicker bin on the floor is meant to hold delivered newspapers and magazines. Please do not toss junk mail, trash, or other unwanted items in the bins . The cleaning company empties out unclaimed newspapers and magazines from the bin every Wednesday. Tired of the Post Marketplace midweek mailer cluttering up your mailbox? Call 202-334-6100 to remove your address from their delivery list (it actually works!) See below.
