Instructions for Checking Laundry Machine Status Online
As of today, our laundry room is online! This means that residents may create a profile on www.checkmywash2.com and, through this website, monitor the availability of building laundry machines. The website is fairly self-explanatory. You will need to register for an account by entering your email address and creating a password. Once signed up, select our laundry room by searching the address (using 20005 will work). Click on our address and you will note that the machine availability appears on the right of your computer screen. You can then select to get a text or email notification when your laundry cycle is complete.
Secondly, now that the new machines have been installed, the Board would like to take this opportunity to again remind residents of the laundry room rules or the "Articles of Consideration," which are posted in the laundry room and below for reference. The Board has received multiple emails, complaining that despite the building's best efforts, the new laundry machines are often covered in pet hair.
Although New Plaza is (proudly) a pet-friendly building, pet owners must be considerate of their neighbors and clean out any stray hairs or fur after laundry machine use. Further, pet owners may not use any of the laundry machines to clean their pets' items, including--but not limited to--bedding, litter pads, toys, clothing, and accessories. If this continues to be a problem, the Board will be forced to take more extreme measures, including monitoring the laundry room in order to fine residents for misuse of property. The Board has considered having the laundry room cleaned five times per week (currently, the room is cleaned three times per week), but this is a large expense that can easily be avoided if residents would just quickly wipe down machines after using them and wash their pets' items elsewhere.
