New Mailboxes and Mailbox Keys, Tuesday Dec. 2nd

Dear Residents, Our new mailboxes will be installed on Tuesday, December 2nd. Please clean out your mailbox no later than Tuesday, December 2nd at 8 a.m. ;  doing so will greatly simplify the transition from the old to new mailboxes. The Board expects that the new mailboxes will be labeled and positioned in the same manner as the current ones. However, note that you will have a new key for your mailbox. There are three ways to obtain your new mailbox key: You may authorize a Board member to deliver your key directly to your unit door (or under your doormat) immediately following the mailbox installation, thus allowing you to access your mail without delay. Do so by emailing the board at Board@thenewplaza.com . You may pickup your key from Unit 704 on Tuesday, December 2nd from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. OR from Unit 502 on Wednesday, December 3rd from 8:00am to noon. You may email the Board ( board@thenewplaza.com ) to schedule a different time to pick up your key.  As a reminder, since th

Lobby Project Update

The lobby renovation project is [almost] done; we're in the home stretch. The contractors will return next week to complete the following finishing touches: Installation of new mailboxes on Tuesday, Dec 2 (the Board will send out a separate notice about how to obtain the new key for your mailbox); Replacement of one of the horizontal sconce lightbulbs and replacement of the defective exit sign above the mailboxes; Installation of a ceiling light above the staircase landing immediately up from the lobby; A second coat of painting for the exterior of the front door; Touch-up painting for the lobby; Installation of new protective surfacing on the Trash Room door. Please email the Board immediately at board@thenewplaza.com if your unit door needs paint touch-up. Thanks again to all for your patience and understanding throughout this process! We hope you enjoy the new lobby and your correctly painted unit door.

Updated Door Painting Schedule

Dear Residents, The Board would like to thank you for your patience and cooperation with the building renovation. As you may have noticed, our painters have a large team on site, and have been quite productive and efficient in their work. As a result, it turns out that the painters will have a ll unit doors primed and painted on a single day. Therefore, unless you have emailed us to schedule a different day, your unit door will be primed and painted on the first assigned day of the painting schedule , previously the "priming day." This is because the team was able to prime the outside of the unit doors, while closed, last week. Therefore, the only things that need time to dry are the top and side portions of the unit doors that are not exposed unless open. As such, Floors 5, 6, and 7 will be done today. Floors 2, 3, and 4 will be done tomorrow (with the exception of one unit). Basement level will be done on Friday, plus the excepted unit from Thursday. Please let

REVISED Unit Door Painting Schedule

The Board has excellent news -- after further consultation with the design team, the Board has learned that the painters can move up the painting schedule, completing the unit door painting prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.  The slight twist in the plan is that the painters will have to prime the doors on one day, keeping the doors open to dry for 45 min. to 1 hour after priming, and paint on the following day, again keeping the doors open to dry for 45 min. to 1 hour after painting.  Therefore, unit doors will be open for two days, as detailed below.    You must secure all pets on both assigned dates .  If you would like to be home while the painters are here, please plan accordingly.  As per the original email, in order to secure the building as quickly as possible, a Board member will be closing unit doors between  4:30 pm and 5 pm  each work day.   Please also be advised that per Section 6.9 of the Bylaws ("Right of Access"), the Board has the authority to open unit door

REMINDER: Unit Key Testing Today at 10am

A reminder that the Board will be testing unit key copies this morning from 10am-11am. We will knock on your door prior to testing the key, and will re-lock the door afterward. If there are extenuating circumstances for which you wish for us NOT to test your door this morning, please let us know immediately  at board@thenewplaza.com. You will then be responsible for ensuring the Board has a current copy of your key. Thanks! The renovation project has officially begun as of 8am this morning.
